Marinara sauce was sweet but the bread to cheese and meat ratio was great. The seasoning was delightful.

As a vegan exploring dining options in Minneapolis, I ventured to D.P. Dough-Upon trying their vegan cheese sticks and tots, however, my experience left much to be desired.
Vegan Cheese Sticks: My excitement waned upon opening the box to find the vegan cheese sticks disappointingly small, measuring around 3"x6". The online description promised two marinara sauces, yet only one was provided. While I appreciate the effort to accommodate vegans, it was disheartening that marinara was the sole vegan sauce option. As someone who values variety and inclusion, I hoped for alternatives like vegan ranch or pesto. For those seeking pizza sticks or vegan pizza in general, I'd recommend Toppers in Uptown. Their exceptional offerings, including diverse sauce choices and attentive service, consistently impress.
Tots: The tots at D.P. Dough elicited a similar sentiment of disappointment. While I understand the appeal of budget-friendly options, the meager portion—merely 20 tots—was underwhelming. I thought for a moment that the tots might redeem themselves when I saw a big ramekin of what appeared to be a white sauce. However, my optimism was short-lived as I tasted what turned out to be a very plain white sauce, unsuitable for vegans or those with lactose intolerance. Trust me, do not learn this the way I did. This oversight, albeit unintentional, detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the provision of a handful of ketchup packets did little to enhance the meal. I'd recommend Tots from Iron Door- for the last 5 years they just haven't been beat for price, quantity and flavor!
Lastly, the restaurant's policy of disallowing any notes or substitutions to be made online was inconvenient. As someone who prefers the ease of online ordering, I found this restriction to be a hindrance, especially considering my dietary preferences.

The Calzone and Cinnamon Stix arrived overcooked (like burnt) and lukewarm. I have ordered from DP Dough before and it's been amazing- so im really dissatisfied. Also, I purchased an extra side of marinara and I did not receive it.

I ordered the Construction Zone, which I absolutely loved. it was fun and convenient being able to build your own calzone. The ingredients were stuffed throughout the calzone and was very flavorful. The Pesto Stix were not worth $9.00. they were just ok in flavor/taste. I also ordered a 2 liter of Sierra Mist. What I got was a 2 liter of some generic lemon lime soda, called Starry. I did order thru doordash and it took over 90 minutes to receive my order. I would most likely order from this place again and try some different items.

The calzones themselves were fantastic. However I was a little disappointed in the ranch dressing. It tasted like bottle ranch, not the kind they mix themselves. Which is fine but I was expecting the same delicious ranch as the Iowa City location. Different locations, slightly different products I suppose. It wasnt bad, just not as good as ranch can be especially in the midwest. :)
