Sal & Phil's is a seafood eatery and bar in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Royal reds, Po-boys, Mississippi catfish, Gulf Shrimp, Louisiana Crawfish, fresh oysters, along with Muffulettas, Specialty Poboys, …
I ordered the Oysters Fried Baskets I had approximately 13 or 14 oysters that were perfectly fried, the only issue was the oysters did not have salt or pepper seasoning on them. I don't add salt to already prepared food but I did on this occasion and with the tartar sauce they were perfect.

the Crawfish Po-Boy was not good. the crayfish were overcooked, so dry and hard, remoulade didn't have a good flavor, and it didn't include fries. Who sells a poboy without fries?? The fries I ordered were good, but a very small portion for $5. The portions of ettouffe and gumbo were dissatifying as well. This was my first and last time eating this place. Georgia Blue runs circles around it.

Red Beans & Rice was cold and lacking creole tasting for a New Orleans dish, the Sausage Link was possibly boiled as an add on and small on size for the a la carte price.

Bread Pudding is oneof the best in Jackson, they just need to add a little bit more rum sauce to each dish. Unfortunately there are no raisins.

This restaurant is consistently inconsistent. They also do not try to pack a to go order for travel. This was a third try and the only items they have done well are the sausage links, the corn on the cob and boiled potatoes. I tried the bread pudding for the first time and it was tasty, but the portion is very small for $7.
