I eat here waaaay more than my budget allows because the food hits EVERY time. I've been to a lot of portland sushi, and Kenbu is by far the best and most consistent spot. I always order with an alteration - no spicy mayo, and it's never accidentally put on. The folk who make the magic happen in the food cart are also So Nice. Definitely order here if you're on the fence about where to eat and you find yourself door dash doom scrolling, you won't regret it. 🍣😋

The Chicken Katsu at Kenbu Sushi reminds me of what I cooked as a tempura chef 20-something years ago at a busy sushi restaurant. Tonkastu sauce on the side and extra spicy mayo. It's my go to dish when I need comfort food. The sushi at Kenbu is the best. The Barbie roll is a solid choice.

This is my favorite sushi delivery because the menu seems focused and they don't offer too many fish that they couldn't keep fresh. Normally I give 5 stars but this Sunday I give three because the tuna nigiri was so bad -- so thin and so dry it was bad.

U had the Takoyaki, Fried Calamari , and Wakame Salad. The Fried Fried Calamari was very crispy and hot which can be the most difficult thing to get right, so them leaving that wonderful crust flavorless (i.e., needed salt or seasoning) so you had to use the sauce.
Takoyaki also fried well, but the inside was not a pleasant texture as it was all just mushy and not very tasty. You could only discern the octopus because it was the part with a more tough texture.
Last but not least, the Wakame Salad was good. Cold, crunchy, slightly salty but just enough. It was just seaweed, sesame seeds, perfectly sauced, and shredded carrot on the bottom. Simple, but got the job done well.

The sushi is average for quality and taste but seems fresh. It is not the best sushi I have had and not the worst. Just average. The Edamame was overcooked a bit. The seaweed salad was overdressed. The portions are generous. I asked for sauce on the side for 2 sushi rolls, and they mixed them together in one little to go thing. they were 2 diffrent sushi rolls. for different sushi. 1 was Barbie Roll what? I do not see myself ordering it again, but you never know.
