The quality of Zaxby's has gone down, extraordinarily. To start with the drinks: The three lemonades had some type of powdery substance in it. This is odd, considering that they claim that the lemonade is "handcrafted." so, does this mean that they made the Kool-Aid themselves? There was nothing about this lemonade that would indicate that it was made fresh or with real lemons. Especially since it was powdery, to the pallet, when drank. The Cobb Zalad® - Grilled, we ordered two. Before we moved to Georgia, Zaxby's was a place to go for salad. They were robust and loaded. The salads that we got, this time. Had very little variation. As a little color as they could possibly sprinkle across the top. And the lettuce was wilting. Fortunately, the chicken was moist and the egg did not taste like it had been sitting around. I wish I could've said the same for the lettuce. The bread was regular bread, and since it was left on top of a salad, while hot, was probably the reason that the lettuce was wilting. This is the first time I've ever had their bread delivered sitting inside of the salad bowl. But don't worry, the moisture that you're losing your salad will be in your bread so that it is soggy… So at least it compensates somewhere, right? We even went as far as to order Funnel Cake with Caramel Sauce, going all out with the calories… The funnel cake was small enough to fit into the palm of my hand. It was dry and crispy. Did not look like the advertised serving. Instead of contacting me to let me know that they were out of caramel sauce, like most local restaurants would. They just sent it on… Dry, crunchy, covered in powdered sugar to add to the pasty feeling, as it hits the roof of your mouth. Needless to say, it was not enjoyable. we also ordered and paid for, Fried White Cheddar Bites. BUT WE DIDN'T GET THEM. As for the French fries, 20% of the fries were black, like they had used old potatoes or bruised up, potatoes. We were not inclined to eat them. Last, but not least, the Southern Fried Shrimp Meals and the extra two orders of 4 Southern Fried Shrimp, were disgusting. There was very little shrimp and a lot of batter. The shrimp was dry and leathery. The batter, was thick, and had very little flavor, other than salt. They were so salty it was unbearable. We requested delivery of more than $100 worth of food when my adult children showed up the night before Mother's Day, to spend the following day, with me. When they arrived, hungry, as usual. I was inclined to order out so that I could spend as much time with them as possible. Needless to say, I ended up in the kitchen, making sandwiches after everyone threw out their food. As I said, when starting this review, the quality of Zaxby's has gone down, extraordinarily. It was a huge waste of money and time. What a shame! :(
