I recently ate at Cape Fear Seafood Company for the first time and really enjoyed their food so I decided to have it delivered and they did not disappoint. Just like when I ate there in person, the asparagus was not overcooked (and they give you so much), the salmon was cooked perfectly and they put the sauce on the side for you which is appreciated. Also, they have the best Hush Puppies.

The large portion size Fish & Chips Basket Lunch Special was appreciated.However. the fish had no taste. They were under season for my taste. They were fired well and the batter was very crispy. The hush puppies were delicious well seasoned.
The Blueberry Cobbler was not good at all. It was more like a round piece of blueberry cake instead of cobbler. It had no taste and dry. The scoop of ice saved me from throwing it away.

Yummy to everything. The Hush Puppy Basket hit the spot. They were so warm and fresh; cooked perfectly. The Blueberry Cobbler was excellent as well. There was an abundance of all the food. My husband had the Calabash Whole Boat and said it was wonderful. He had been craving some calabash seafood since we moved back east, and he has found his "go-to" place.

Food was disappointing. Hushpuppies were fine but overcooked, and rather dry. Jambalaya was bad. The rice and sauce were only okay....watery and thin without the rich flavor you'd expect in Jambalaya. The seafood components were pretty terrible. The scallops and shrimp both were just flavorless, boiled pieces. For the shrimp, it was just the seasoning that disappointed. The scallops on the other hand were a poor quality product. They were fresh but had a strong bitterness that is characteristic of cheap scallops that have been injected with preservatives so they stay juicy in a big heavy frozen bag for a longer time prior to being cooked. Quite a disappointment from a supposed upscale seafood restaurant. I am inclined not to choose this restaurant again.

The Espresso Brownie Sundae was missing the vanillsice cream, caramel sauce and whipped cream. The Calabash Choice of Two Platter was fine. The fries were cold by the time it got here. The fried shrimp were crispy and good. Scallops were okay, slightly moist and the dredge was coming off. The risso cakes were cheesy and crisp.
