The FATOUSH SALAD WITH LAMB SHAWRMA is great, but the stuffed grape leaves are killer. Everything is homemade, authentically Egyptian cuisine, and halal. If you love middle eastern food you will love Monroe falafel. If you would like to try middle eastern dishes, this is the place to do so. Warning: the dishes here will spoil you. You may be very disappointed anywhere else.

The rice platter was good, the tabouli salad was okay. It had an atypical slighly sweet flavor and the portion was very small. The humus and babaganoush were very good. The rice and mujadras were good. I love their falafels, they remind me of McDonald's and have a fried flavor.
I did order grape leaves but they accidentally gave double humus instead.
The Fava Beans Platter was different than I was expecting. I would not get it again but appreciate the vegetarian option. It was like the sauce that came with the falafels with beans and tomatos in it. Definitely better to think of as like a sauce than a main dish.

We had high hopes but this was... not good. the pita was so burnt it was like biting concrete. The "platters" was dismal - small portions of the sides and the sandwiches were made with tortilla wraps instead of pita? What? No way this was worth the price. Very disappointing.

the Lentil Soup was delicious. the vegetarian platter was v good, hummous and baba gannouj were excellent, the Falafel Platter falafel was v tasty but a little on the drier side than I prefer. the fattoush salad was g good but only a v small portion, unfortunately. the French Fries were also v good. all in all, excellent food. definitely recommend.

Very friendly local place. The food is excellent and a very good value. Their house made hummus is really exquisite. The owner is always eager to have you try the latest. We're big fans.
