• DoorDash orderAwesome TASTINESS as usual!! Consistently delicious and fresh!!! The Edamame is a wonderful snack. They prepare it with a sufficient but nominal amount of salt, so you are not bloated or swollen after eating (I cant think of a better way to describe how it is awful when restaurants over-salt their food. NOKTurne does not do that -- theres enough salt that you are able to enjoy how that brightens the Edamame without going over that perfect amount).
Also as usual, the Nopalilla lunch box was fantastic!!! The cactus quesadillas (the Nopalillas) are super tasty and the creamy-type red salsa they serve for dipping the 'dillas is fantastic. I cant imagine a better dipping sauce for them. We continue to be pleasantly surprised each time that the Nopalillas are so delicious, and we question what took us so long to try them! (I know the answer. It's because we never thought cactus could taste so good. Teaches us a lesson not to presume ...).
The Nopalilla lunch comes with a voice of soup or salad. I order the salad each time, because it is always a fresh and tasty salad. It is not your run-of-the-mill "salad in a bag repackaged for restaurant sale". Instead, it is a mixture of fresh greens, fresh bean sprouts, always delicious cherry tomatoes and other ingredients as described on their menu. The perfect balance between taste, crunch and other textures! Andthe price of the lunch box is very reasonable considering the perfect portions.
My son had the Fried Onion Smash Burger and really enjoyed it. The fried onion seems to be more of a sautee-style "fried" onion. There is no batter and it definitely has not been dipped in a big vat of oil and deep fried. Thata great news!!! We were imaging it would be a deep fried onion ring on the burger, as most other places seem to do when offering a "fried onion" burger. So, we asked for the toppings on the side. It was a wonderful surprise to see the "fried onion" is much healthier than presumed (again, I should presume (or assume)). And, my son said it was delicious.

• DoorDash orderThe Nopalilla (cactus) quesadillas were/are surprisingly AWESOME!!! We tried them because they have a 98% favorable rating with lots of great reviews. Nonetheless, we were skeptical that cactus quesadillas (or cactus-anything) would be delicious.
I'm glad we were wrong!!! And imTglad we decided to trust the reviews (and thus ordered them) instead of passing them up because of our apprehension.
Nokturne's Nopalilla quesadillas were/are probably the best quesadillas we've ever had, and the sauce served with them made them even better!!!
Not surprising was the fact the popcorn was super tasty. It is always freshly popped and has more flavor than any other popcorn!!! It also keeps well and tastes just as good 1-2 days later when stored in the paper bag in which Nokturne packages it.
The greens, tomatoes and sprouts in the house salad also were very fresh. But, I wish there was an option for a balsamic vinegar dressing. Additionally, if you order the houe salad alone, there are options to add avocado and other toppings. However, when selected as part of a "lunch box" order on DoorDash (such as the Nopalilla lunch box, which we selected) , those options are not included. Please fix that. I would prefer paying extra to add avacados and feta cheese.
The Guacamole is/was great - always fresh, and it stays fresh until the next day (probably because of the lime juice and the fact they keep the seed/pit in the container with the Guacamole).
The Yuca Stix, however, were disappointing. The Yuca Stix tasted undercooked, and despite adding green onions and fresh seasoning, the Yuca Stix were very bland. Perhaps if they were cooked more and crispy, they may have tasted better. I think we just got a dull batch, though, because they have a very good rating by other customers. Thus, I suspect our disappointment must have just been a one-off and not the usual customer experience .
p.s.: we are not vegan. I mention that, because many of the dishes offered by Nokturne are marketed as vegan. So one might think our review of their dishes as "awesome" or "the best" are in the context of "awesome for a vegan dish" (with the bias that if ita vegan it probably wont taste as good as non-vegan or non-vegetarian versions of the dish). Nope - that qualifier does not apply! We tried Nokturne after seeing for over a year that it has one of the highest local ratings, and for the vegan dishes weve tried, we tried them because of their high ratings or tempting photos/descriptons - not because we were seeking vegan options. So, if youre a carnivore, fear not! The vegan dishes at Nokturne are awesome and stand out as far better than their competitors - even the non-vegan/non-vegetarian competitors!!! They pack just as much and even more flavor than competitors, and it's just a fantastic surprise they do so while also being vegan! Oh, and it's also wonderful that you dont feel bloated or bogged down after chowing down on their food. Eg, a serving of quesadillas from some places (or homemade) can leave us feeling weighed down and sluggish for a couple hours. Eating the Nopalillas and Guacamole (and popcorn) did not cause this, however. Granted,we were full and had some portion of each left over for the next day, but we were not bloated or drained of energy.
Sorry for the verbose review. Doordashasks for lots of details, and in this case, we're happy to provide them given how good Nokturne's food is. Take care.
