Planta Burger and truffle fries were great. The (1/2) pint of icecream (one scoop) had great flavor but not worth the price.

I had the falafel crunch wrap and the big cookie. It was my first time having the wrap. It was tasty but a bit too salty for me.
I'm always amazed at how large the big cookie is, but it was good as well.

As a Vegan, I first fell in love with Planta in Miami. The food was so delicious that even my non-vegan boyfriend said that it was one of the best menus he's ever tried.
When I heard that Planta was opening a restaurant in my own DC backyard, in Bethesda, I was so excited. I went there as soon as they opened, and at first they didn't disappoint. The food was just as good as when I first tried it back in Miami. The place was getting just as popular too.
But then something changed. I'm not sure what happened, but when I soon went back with my boyfriend, we noticed a significant drop in quality of food. I thought it was just a fluke, we went back for his birthday, six months later for Valentine's Day. The place was just as popular, but the food wasn't good anymore.
Still as a vegan, I desperately wanted to love Planta, and recently ordered their CHICK'N FRIED MUSHROOMS and BANG BANG BROCCOLI on DoorDash. I was disappointed once again. The batter on broccoli was clumpy, the mushrooms looked strangely pale. It was edible, but just poor quality. The sauces were pretty good though, so it helped.
Anyway, I really want Bethesda Planta to do better, because as vegans in DC area, we need more excellent restaurants to show others the benefits of veganism. But unfortunately so far our Planta is not much to brag about.

I ordered a PLANTA BURGER which came with a generous amount of fries.The presentation was nice in its compostable containers. The sandwich was cut and came with two sauces - ketchup and mayo.
Here were the things I didn't like - the fries weren't crispy, and the sandwich contained pickles and mustard (I don't like either)which was not mentioned in the description of the sandwich. Due to these reasons, it was difficult to fully enjoy my meal. The ingredients seemed fresh, so it could be enjoyable if you like pickles, mustard and fries that are soft rather than crispy

The CHICK'N FRIED MUSHROOMS were very disappointing because there were no full mushrooms pieces just very small scrap pieces. It is certainly not worth the money.
