I ordered online even though I live beside the restaurant just so I could leave a review. Out of 20 sushi places, this is by far the best, highest quality rice, soy sauce, chop sticks, fish. They really put the effort into quality ingredients. Many sushi places are very dry, not here. The beef udon I had was amazing.

can tell they're really cheap and don't care much about quality. Dynamite Roll has no crab like all other dynamite rolls in vancouver, and was rolled so poorly that it was falling apart. Inari (Fried Soy Tofu) had barely any rice in it. it was all meh. wouldn't order again.

Albeit skeptical at first Yamato is clearly an underrated sushi restaurant. I would highly recommend ordering from here rather than the chain-restaurant competition. Fresh sushi, decent prices & solid portions.

It sounds dramatic but this sushi saved the day for me. I was having a really hard day, a previous DoorDash order had cancelled on me, and as someone new to Vancouver, my anxiety about not being familiar with local restaurants was really high.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I opened my order as the rolls were HUGE, and the toppings looked beautiful and in perfect condition despite travelling across Vancouver. They tasted AMAZING and turned my whole day around. This order was my emotional support sushi, and I have no need to try any new places knowing how great the sushi will be here.
The rolls I got were: Sakura, Commercial, Yamato

Best sushi I've ever had in Vancouver. Tried many things(all amazing) but if dynamite rolls are your thing, this is the place! Been my favorite place since 2009. I've tried other places but nothing compares.
