In 1952, two brothers, Jimmy and Tommy, started Coffee Cup on Rice St, Saint Paul. The diner came to be known for being family friendly and its cozy atmosphere where great variety of food is served i…
Hands down THE BEST BREAKFAST I have ever had! The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy on the outside, flavorful without being greasy, and it was a larger portion than I was expecting. The three pancakes were the thickest I have ever had! Beautifully browned and fully cooked while remaining fluffy. They barely needed syrup! As for the sausage links, I was expecting the standard thin ones....but they were as thick as a brat! The casing was crispy and also not greasy! I was pleasantly surprised with the bacon cause usually it's not cooked to my liking and this bacon was like the kind I make at home.

Hot turkey sandwich is delicious as usual, great portion with real potatoes and gravy! When you want homemade but can't cook a turkey this is it. BLT and egg sandwich tastes great and filling. Love the hash browns. Cinnimon

Amazing! Huge portion, the Country Biscuits N' Gravy are delicious! Biscuits aren't dense like a lot of places, but light and fluffy and the gravy is so good! Hashbrowns had a generous amount of onions (added for an upcharge), and the eggs were scrambled to perfection. I tried this restaurant on a whim, and they will now be my go-to for everything breakfast!!!

Coffee Cup on Randolph is great for business-breakfast delivery, as it's the only place I've found to date that will consistently deliver to our office on time for early breakfast meetings. This is possible because Coffee Cup opens at 6:00 a.m., not 7:00 a.m. like so many other restaurants that serve breakfast. The breakfast menu is essentially "classic diner" with a few variations, such as roast-beef eggs Benedict: If you liked breakfast at the (closed) St. Clair Broiler or currently enjoy it at places like Keys Cafe', you will like Coffee Cup on Randolph. My only (minor) complaint is this: if you're ordering breakfast sandwiches, you may want to forego the "bialy" bread option: I ordered this once, and the bialies looked a lot like made-elsewhere "everything" bagels. . .not worth the bialy extra charge! On a positive note, once Coffee Cup cancelled and refunded our order for a side of mixed fruit because they were out, but sent us some complimentary fresh red grapes instead.
