The Ruben Melt was very tasty. The cheese, meat, and bread were really good! The only thing I'd say is that the sauerkraut could be a little stronger in taste. Overall, it's a great sandwich!

Service is sub standard, for a tiny sandwich shop they used to be much better.
I miss the days when this sandwich shop cared, and presented the best in morro bay.
Save your money, go across the street to Shine Cafe. Shine has Amazing service, amazing food, great price!

update to my last review: i ordered it again and the pastrami may not be pastrami afterall but at worst it is thin cut corned beef, not slabs. I didn't smother it with extra pickles and mustard the way I normally do and it did have slightly more corned beef flavor and coloring BUT still satisfactory overall. good portions too!

I ordered this Turkey Melt for my neighbor. He’s got an extremely strict diet and I was very happy that Gilligans was more than willing to accommodate his needs.
One thing I’d really like to point out is that the owner is in this shop making those sandwich’s every day, all day long. She is putting her heart into this business and it shows in the final product.
My neighbor tried to limit himself, but he couldnt help it. He’d take a bite and wrap it back up only to unwrap it again a minute later to take another bite because it was THAT good.
Don’t buy a sandwich from a chain restaurant like Beach Hut Deli, buy local. The quality is incomparable.
