The Brownstew Chicken Platter was ok. The Curry Goat Platter was excellent. However, on both platters I ordered cabbage as one of my sides. They gave me half a scoop both times. Look at the pictures. That is before I touched either Platter. Even the cabbage was good with a little heat I won't order it again. I want a full side.

I wanted the brown stew red snapper fish however I received the escovitch red snapper also my curry chicken patty was missing. I prefer the bear location because the service and food taste better, so I will have to drive there to pick up my food. I always have a problem at the middletown location. The oxtails were so chewy and tough.

I have had almost every entree at the cafe (except shrimp/ shellfish) since they opened. So far, I liked the brownstew chicken and escoveitch red snapper. Most of the other meals were inedible. I could not wait to get the stew peas, but was so disappointed. The beef was tough, dry, and hard to chew. The jerk chicken was not jerked (on a grill) and way too spicy. And the soup does not have enough ingredients in it when it's served. BUT my biggest concern is the prices. $24-$27 for very basic chicken dishes and almost $40 for a medium fish is outrageous! I really tried to support a local business from yaad, but I can't do it when the cost is this extreme. Even the cost of the juices and Ting are ridiculous. You can buy a large soda for the cost of a small drink. The restaurant was a novelty when it first opened -- neighbors willing to support new businesses. But the newness has run out and some adjustments with both the cooking and the prices need to be made. I only ordered today because there was a coupon. I won't order again at this rate.

I had the Jerk chicken with cabbage and rice and beans and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The gravy was tasty. The rice and beans was flavorful. I would definitely go back again.
