I can't express how supreme their chicken is. Any style, but I would take their bone-in chicken pieces, the wings, and the sandwich over their chicken tenders but you honestly can't lose there either. I specifically recommend their spicy crispy and spicy blackened chicken sandwiches, the chicken wings (original, or their signature hot wings, sweet heat, or lemon pepper), and their crispy chicken sections (like the drumsticks/breasts/etc. combos).
Their deal for 50% off sandwiches and wings bundle is a HUGE steal. I ordered this last time and it comes with two sandwiches; although I despise grilled chicken sandwiches, I opted to try one sandwich with what I usually get, the spicy crispy chicken, and 1 as the spicy blackened grilled style.
Holy Lord. That sandwich is a real marvel and I can't think of a single competitor that comes close. I'm a decent cook but I would never be able to come close to how tender/juicy/flavor, it's super impressive considering they are essentially fast food. The only time I'd ever rate a grilled chicken sandwich equally with their crispy chicken brethren.
Another huge leg Popeyes has over others is their sauces. I can't think of a restaurant that has so many sauces that taste like they are on the expensive end, they really just kill it. Try comparing their sauces to say Buffalo Wild Wings and you'll understand.
Sweet Heat, their signature hot sauce, Blackened Ranch, Mardi Gras mustard, and the new lemon pepper are my favorite but they don't have a single bad flavor in my opinion... the lemon pepper literally tastes like someone squeezed a fresh lemon in when preparing the sauce. Any other lemon sauce from other chicken restaurants tastes cheap and manufactured in my opinion.
I also recommend their biscuits. The fries are pretty great if you dine-in but if delivered, you may wanna throw them in the air fryer for a few minutes before you consume as they tend to come a bit soggy. It's a bit of a common problem with delivery and having soggy food, though, and Popeyes handles it better than most; chicken sandwiches come hot (they wrap them in foil pouches) and their chicken wing containers do a good job keeping them fresh and crispy (even when picking the dipped wings).
In summary, Popeyes has no peer in this space and their 50% off specials make them the most affordable option for chicken, by far.. Even if I consider any of the over 100 fancier sit-down/local city restaurant I've ever visited. A couple places may muster a crispy chicken sandwich that compares well, but any other style they simply don't have competition, let alone their prices.
