The TUNA SANDWICH was delicious & very fresh tasting. TOMATO BISQUE was savory with the perfect amount of bread pieces in it to not need bread even tho their COUNTRY BREAD AND BUTTER is a yummy side dish for the soup or the RICOTTA SPREAD spread. 10/10 no notes

Taking a chance and paying $25 for a pepperoni pizza is on me.
This pizza has all the components to be good but falls short -- cheese and oil overwhelm the crust and cause a wet bottom which ruins what could be delicious. the unsoggy parts of the crust were tasty.
Definitely way better options for cheaper in SF.
Tiramisu is very small but tasty.

There will always be one mediocre item in a bunch to keep them from getting five stars, but this is a great bakery. One pastry ought to fill you up but other places don't quite: Tartine does. Substantial, flaky and buttery croissant-type pastries are my favorite.

Fantastic overall. The plain croissant is one of the best I've ever had (inclusive of Paris). The banana cream tart has a beautiful caramel surprise inside- and the pastry remains perfectly crisp because of a chocolate coating. The salmon tartine is very good, definitely on the rich side. Love the mustard seed and pickled onion on top.

Ordered the Margherita pizza w/Anchovies (wish they had black oil-cured Olives -- I'd add those, too). Also the Fennel Sausage & Onion pizza which was AMAZING. I have to admit I liked it even more than the Margherita, which I love. It had just the right balance between sweet (from the Onions) and savory, with a hint of spicy (from the Fennel Sausage).
