The Hickory Pit, is amazing!! We have been blown away by the quality of the food and the great selection. I don't even, know where to start. The burgers are **AMAZING!!** The quality of the meat is surprisingly wonderful. There are only two places in the Tri-City area, that my family will get a fast burger from, now. When it comes to dinner, we are usually in a hurry, and often end up ordering delivery. We have tried a lot of options, when trying to find good food that accommodates my families schedule. And I hope The Hickory Pit, NEVER decides to reduce the quality of the meat they use. We LOVE their wonderful burgers and plan to be lifetime customers. I enjoy trying new foods and different renditions of classics, when we find a new place to go to. And let me tell you this, we haven't found anything to complain about so far. Here is a quick rundown: The green beans are cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. I feel like I'm sitting in my grandmother's kitchen, when I start eating their green beans. The fried pickles are delightful and obviously, hand breaded. Takes me back to when my teenagers started learning how to cook, and one of the first things they wanted to cook was fried pickles. They taste wonderful and homemade. The banana pudding is 100% outstanding. Whoever prepares the banana pudding doesn't miss a beat. Thick creamy banana pudding, with thin layers of thin sliced bananas. Topped off, with vanilla wafers. But not an overwhelming amount of vanilla wafers. I prefer, the wafer taste as an afterthought. Their banana pudding is everything, but just the perfect amount of it. You will have to try it, to fully understand my description. Lemonade, it is so refreshing. Bottled root beer. Can't say much, other than southern, cold, and YUM!! Onward, to their surprisingly delicious fried bologna sandwich. It couldn't be more perfect. This delicious, thick slice of bologna, fried to perfection, served on their warm and delicious bun. Is made even better.... Because you can get everything you would usually want on it. Onions, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, my oldest son wants bacon with his. I love lots of lettuce and extra mayo, on mine. Simply put, you will be surprised at how good their bologna sandwiches are. I challenge you to try one and not love it. Because I think it will be an impossible task. This testiment, is comes from someone who only chooses to eat baloney, around, once a year. I liked bologna, well enough. Unfortunately, it isn't always easy to find the really good, freshly made Bolognas, around here. Of course, I don't know where they get theirs. But eating their bologna sandwiches, puts me in the mindset, of sitting in my favorite German restaurant, enjoying freshly made bologna. This restaurant brings back all sorts of memories for me. All of them, really great memories, of wonderful food. I did, finally, think of one complaint. They need a bigger staff. But along those lines, so do most places, that serve food, now. These days, seems like everywhere we go, to grab a bite to eat. There are signs in the windows looking for help, many are offering "sign on bonuses" just to get people to work. So I don't think that these guys are any different, when it comes to hiring issues. I hope that the lack of employees, does not become an issue for them. If we want the best, we have to be patient enough to get it. There won't be any complaints, from us. We are, already, in love with Hickory Pit food. As long as they don't mind, me waiting, or our DoorDasher waiting around on our order. I will keep coming back. Having a large amount of employees, these days, doesn't necessarily mean, that things are going to go any better. A lot of the well staffed places, that I have been to, over the last year. Have had the worst service and food, EVER. So it is my advice that they keep doing what they do and hopefully people will keep being patient and waiting on southern style deliciousness, that's well worth waiting on. Sometimes, people get in, TOO MUCH, of a hurry. Anyway, I know this was long, too long. But I want to make certain, that I convey my gratitude.
THANK YOU, Hickory Pit, for the awesome and DELICIOUS food!!
