The pizza that Chicago is famous for. Our deep/dish starts in a 2" deep pan with crust to the top edges, bottom crust a little thicker than our thin crust. Lot's of ingredients and cheese, then baked, then topped with our own tomato top sauce and grated cheese.
What Chicago first perfected in the early 1900's where flat thin crust pizza was made with pride and sold for five cents each! Our thin crust is the same thickness (approximately 1/4" thick) from edge to edge, without the 1" to 1 1/2" handle that most other pizzas have. Loaded with cheese and toppings to the edge. We go way beyond what "stuffed" is in Chicago. Best description: make a deep dish pizza first, then build a thin crust pizza into the top of it, bake it and top it with our top sauce, making a double layer “pizza cake". This is truly the "mother of all pizzas"! More expensive than most other pizzas you can find, but they feed so many! Actually two pizzas in one!
