Dim Sum Basket is a to-go only dim sum restaurant located in Brentwood. We are a family owned business that serves freshly made dim sum everyday. Dim Sum (點心) is a traditional Chinese small plates …
Tip: call or order ahead so that you don't have to wait if there a line to order then wait again while they put everything together for you.
Steamed buns are approx. 3"+ in diameter, so you're getting your money's worth per bun. The bread is white, soft & springy -- no odd bleach taste/smell. Yes, the proportion of bread to filling is 2:1 but the amount of bread compliments the Bbq Steamed Pork Bun / 叉燒包 which is nicely seasoned without being too salty.
Plain Steam Bun / 饅頭 is soft, springy & filling. Bright white (no bleach smell/taste) & about 4"l x 2.5"w in size. These are neither airy nor hard- they are tasty, soft to the bite & filling.

One of the best canton dim sum you can go to. the suhu mai is awesome. The portion size to buy is perfect, especially on days when i'm ordering for myself.

Packed nicely and love love my turnip cakes so much. Hoping they make this available on their daily menu. Hubby loves their Sui Mai and quail egg Sui Mai. But their mochi with meat is super good. Spoke with the owner: John and hes super friendly as well as very accommodating in achieving customer satisfaction on my order going through door dash. I will continue to support this small business. Good food and great service.

This place is my new guilty pleasure, especially since it's the closest tasting to something from the city. Super affordable for the portions and great quality ingredients. The most authentic tasting dim sum I'd say in Brentwood/ Oakley area. I've ordered here twice, so almost everything off of the menu. EVERYTHING is delicious!

The food is good and prices reasonable BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP TAPING THE KNOT ON THE BAG! The tape gets really mangled in the knot and I'm swearing unholy things trying to get it open. I get wanting to secure it and tamper proof it but not at the expense of the customer's sanity.
That said there's no other place to get legit Cantonese classic dim sum in the area. Nothing comes close, periodt. Siu Mai has great flavor and the right amount of chew for that rustic chunkiness balanced with the bouncy texture that is so sought for. Great sticky rice, shrimp and chive dumplings don't skimp on the filling, and maybe the only place here that serves pai guat (spare ribs) like this. Always a good meal.
Just work on that packaging snafu, please. Easy fix.
