Wow, what a revelation CloudChef is! I loved each and every dish I ordered. The Chicken Ghee Roast - Ettan was just scrumptious. It's a dry chicken dish with spicy paste and curry leaves, greens chillies and cilantro served on a flat bread/crepe. The Chicken was extremely juicy and flavorful, the spices and flavors could be felt in the meat, and the bread was soft and fluffy. Spice lovers' dream, but beware, this dish is extremely spicy! The Chicken Ghee Roast - Ettan is easily hands-down the best and most authentic Indian dish I have eaten since I moved to the US from India over a decade ago. Not exaggerating. It was my favorite of all the things I ordered. The Rasmalai Tres Leches - Akshay Purohit dessert was also extremely delicious. It's a soft cottage cheese cake in a saffron sauce with pistachios and almonds. The rasmalai had dried rose petals and chopped pistachios on top. Again, a very authentic Indian dining experience, as you don't get food like that in the US. The Lucknowi Chicken Pulao - Mystery Creator was also delicious and extremely flavorful with two large chicken drumstick pieces. The Pulao was very fragrant with complex, developed flavors of spices and meat, and was moderately spicy (for Indian palates). It comes with a raita - yogurt with diced onions and cucumber, which is a very cooling accompaniment. I reheated and ate it the next day and Chicken was still moist and juicy, so that was a huge plus, but the meat is bone-in, in case that matters to you - I personally did not enjoy that.
The portions for all dishes were adequate, not huge or even big, but definitely decent size for a meal.
All in all, each of these dishes individually made me feel as if I was back home in India where the flavors are sharper, more pronounced, more complex, and layered than the Indian food typically available in the US, including the Bay Area, which has some great Indian restaurants. Will definitely be ordering from here again, including repeats of these dishes!
