This beats Hawaiian Brothers hands down, 7 days a week! I had the kalua pork and teriyaki chicken. the flavor was delicious. the rice was perfectly cooked and the macaroni salad was actually really good. I usually don't like macaroni salad, but this place made me a believer.

Picture does not do the meal justice. Portions are large, and everything is delicious. Pork, shrimp and steak are pictured here for reference. Macaroni salad is also above what you would probably expect.

Food downhill, prices uphill. Shrimp are now smaller and mostly batter, not even close to what they were. Cuts of meat are hit and miss with the rest. Last time I ordered, I threw the shrimp away, which was 2/3 of my protein. Mac salad has a strange taste, and you're forced to have your food touching it. Too expensive to be tossed together in a box like that.

I placed my order too late, I can tell the food was old. I didnt get the normal serving of Teriyaki chicken(small, and dry). I tried something new ( katsu)it was extremely hard. I also think when it's doordash you should tape the container closed. My sauce for the katsu chicken spilled in the bag on my porch. Which it needed maybe it would have softened the chicken.

I can eat from the Ekolu for three days. It's worth the price. The kalua pig is amazing. The pulehu chicken is perfect. The shrimp tempura is really flavorful. The only negative thing about the food is that the kalua pig is sometimes somewhat salty; however, if that isn't an issue for you, it's sooo good. I always feel like it's a wise choice if buying food out. You get so much for your money, and it's unbelievably good for the price compared to any other place.
