I love, love, love the Soto (#204) - it is the perfect dish if you need a filling, comfort meal. The Cah Kangkung (#614) is delicious but the most recent time I ordered, the quantity was small - feel a bit ripped off on that, to be honest.

The parking in that small parking lot can be terrible. The food is still good. However, seeing how much the food prices have increased, I was forced to take away two stars. Their menu was already very pricey due to repeated price hikes. I had stopped ordering frequently and the last time I ordered this item was in August. At the time the item price had already increased to about $16. It has increased again to $19. Add tax and it's about $21 for pickup. As you can see in the picture, it is basically just two legs & thighs with rice and a small amount of salad. The proportions have not changed but the price increases have been out of control.

Ordered the Nasi Goreng Jagger and Chicken Sate (4). They are definitely big portions, the fried rice in particular. However, it was so spicy I couldn't eat it, and that's never happened to me before. So just be prepared for spice.

Simpang never disappoints and is always on my list to order from when I'm in LA. The Roti Paratha (#101) is so hot and fluffy and pairs well with the yellow curry sauce. The Nasi Goreng Jawa (#408) is out of this world - both the vegetarian and meat versions. So spicy and so deeply satisfying.

Chicken in the fried rice was good, big chunks and juicy. The rice itself was a little dry, but the spice level was great -- lite spice had a little heat with flavor, not just heat for the sake of heat.
