"This is not the signature Maki Yaki I remember. Recently moved back to Whittier and Maki Yaki was one of our favorite restaurants. We couldn't wait to have it! That craving we were looking for in our regular order was not what we expected from one of our favorite spots in Whittier. "We noticed that the prices had become much more expensive since we ordered two weeks ago, but we knew it would be good since we have been ordering from this same restaurant for several years. But we were very very disappointed. The rolls and hand rolls were very skimpy with the FBI roll about 1/2 the size it has always been. The snow crab hand roll had much less crab, only half full, and the spicy yellowtail cut roll was mostly cucumber with a few very small chopped pieces of fish. The tuna and yellowtail nigiri were smaller than normal, and the yellowtail had dark flesh attached. It showed poor knife skills as well as poor quality fish. It will be a long while before the memory of this meal leaves us and we order from this restaurant again. "
