Crazy large portions, love it. Maybe I didn't read the description correctly but I was surprised to see ham in the rice. Again, I gotta go back and read the description. Still great.

We ordered the Moo Goo Gai Pan, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Barbecued Pork, Pork Fried Rice 蘑菇鸡片，甜酸鸡，叉烧，叉烧炒饭 from the dinner combo menu. They were all delicious as usual. This time we also ordered 2 Spring Rolls 春卷（小） . I have to say they were the best I have ever had. The portions are all so large that my husband and I (in our 60's) can barely finish the one order. If you want GREAT CHINESE FOOD in Astoria, you have to go to Golden Star!

Everything was great! ... except the Chicken Lo Mein . The noodles were a bit dry, and the chicken didn't taste fresh. Overall, we love the Golden Star Restaurant. Will definitely return for more delicious food!

Mandarin Noodles: The vegetables and meat (ham and chicken) were tasty, but the noodles were so soft that they broke apart instantly when I was trying to get them from the bottom of the container. the sauce from the noodles also started to seep out and into the paper bag. Appetizer Combination Platter: The shrimp was overcooked, but everything else in the platter was delicious! Other: They send lots of sauces such as like the red sweet kind of sauce, hot and sour, and spicy mustard kind of sauce. The drawback was that they sent the hot and sour in a to-go box and it leaked just like the Mandarin Noodles did. I wish they would give options of what sauces you would like with the Appetizer Combination Platter to reduce waste. 1 Soft Drinks: Came inside the paper bag. Surprisingly did not spill, but the paper surrounding the straw was soon soaked with the sauces that leaked from the other boxes.

Generous portions. Great soup, and great BBQ pork! The chow mein was just ok and I think I got the sweet and soup chicken but had ordered the sesame chicken. (Not a sesame seed in sight!) fast, hot and quick delivery make this a great deal. If they got the chicken right it would have been five stars. (Still would skip the chow mein..)
