I love, love, LOVE this restaurant! I'm originally from the Midwest, and this is the local place for authentic, country comfort food. The "limited" menu means they play to their strengths and consistently deliver satisfying meals. And they have chicken "steaks" (livers), which are impossible to find and freaking delicious! Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are my favorites, because that's when the soup is chicken with rice instead of chicken noodle. Enjoy!

chicken pie has no vegetables just like cream soup and chicken
crust was mediocre at best
split pea soup was just green goop no pieces of peas or ham like you would expect
peach pie was like half a piece
wouldnt eat here again
really sad because it is kind of a historic place

Wow.
World Famous Pie Dinner - Lotta food for the tag. Chicken Pie is literally just that: all chicken filling in a crust. Using the included gravy with it is nice, but even alone the pie's got the right combination of flavor and feel. Sides (mashed potatoes, corn, roll) were decent, nothing to truly write home about; saved most of the gravy for these. Dessert (peach pie) was okay, wish I wasn't full by the time I got to it so I could have enjoyed it fresh.
Mac and cheese side - Portion size was fine for the price. Good flavor, though I'd like to see a topping (bread crumbs, a little more cheese baked on top) to complete the dish. Garlic bread was a great inclusion.
