Hudson Bay Cafe, which opened in 1985, has been a Rockridge institution for decades. We have a huge assortment of candies, pastries, breakfast, sandwiches, and salads, as well as a choice of excellent…
Everything is always perfect from Hudson Bay. Their coffee is always perfectly classic dark roast "east bay" style. I love exploring their different bean offerings. I don't think I could survive a sick (or blue) day without their Avocado Toast either. It's easy on the tummy, filling + nutritious, and the Tajin makes even the gloomiest day taste vibrant.

This place is hands down amazing. Excellent food and service. They feed nearly my entire department at the hospital every weekend for breakfast. We can't get enough.
The burritos are the most popular, buts it's hard to choose wrong!

Sausage, Egg and Cheese Sandwich yummy. simple. Could use more flavor.
Latte: you have to pay for the syrups added & this is the second time I've ordered a latte and I can't taste the lavender or vanilla added. It's disappointing because I love ordering from here but now find myself looking elsewhere.

This is my go to places for a breakfast sandwich - they are fabulous with lots of options on cheese, even gluten free bread!
Chai is excellent with different sweetness options so you can get it barely sweet at all which is rare and wonderful. Prices are very reasonable. I've had the club and other sandwiches as well and those have also been great. Really glad to have this shop in the neighborhood!

Signature sandwiches are GREAT BUT, for SALADS-they are pretty DISAPPOINTING in terms of vegetables (much lettuce/leaves-very little tomatoes & such!). Additionally, their LOX bagel: LOX is good but, compared to OTHER Bagel places-their bagel is NOT as TASTY (it tastes more pasty from the frying process compared to a place called Alameda Bagels for example...! They probably do NOT bake their own bagels...
