we have always ordered from the athenian Cafe since they were first open in ivy side plaza and it's always been good and portion vs price fair. the Aegean Platter portions were smaller than they used to be and for almost 21 dollars it was a disappointment. the American Gyro Salad always came with the grape leaf, olives, feta cheese and it's own side of Side Tzatziki Sauce none of that tonight, it just happened that I ordered a side for my Fries. It was very expensive and disappointing tonight

What they call Falafel Appetizer is not falafel, it's some kind of breaded bean paste. Vegetarian Sampler Appetizer was small for the price and baba ganouj had off flavor. Really wanted to like this place as it's the only Mediterranean in town.

I have a severe gluten allergy. I originally ordered a gyro salad, and they called me to let me know that that the gyro meat wasn't gluten free, but the chicken was. they also provided a complimentary tzatziki sauce, since one would have come with the gyro salad. The Mediterranean chicken salad was spectacular, and their customer service was above and beyond!
