First, let's start with the biscuit; the saying is true: everything is bigger in Texas. Lol! Not only is the biscuit big, but the portion size is big. The Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs were cooked to perfection. They were delicious and yummy indeed. I'll definitely order from this place again.

I love the chicken BIGFOOT Chicken Fried Steak. Black Bear Diner never fails me. Vegetables do not taste over seasoned to me. I love how they put them in a bag to prevent them from getting gravy all over them.

We really enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak and the gravy was very good as well. We have ordered the same item twice now from this restaurant and my spouse is very picky about his CFS and the outer crust. It's been the best CFS in the area in my experience with other restaurants that have this on their menu locally. Our experience is that most restaurants don't cook their CFS long enough and the layer between the crust and the meat is not fully cooked. It's also a thin crust which is not our favorite way of making a good CFS. However, that wasn't the case with our CFS orders for this restaurant. There are several other items we would like to try on the menu, but since my spouse is being treated for Melanoma, we still don't feel comfortable with going into a restaurant and eating around other people yet. His treatment has made him somewhat immunocompromised and we just have to be careful as unfortunately, unlike so many other people in this area, I don't think Covid is completely over yet. I'm still wearing a mask as well because if I get it, then I'm going to give it to him and I don't want to be the one who makes him sick or hospitalized with this terrible virus! Great food and so many other things on the menu look extremely delicious, however I'm not sure some of them would travel very well. The French Toast looks extremely delicious and hopefully we will get a chance to try it sometime.

We have ordered the same thing twice from this restaurant and it was just as good the second time as it was the first time. The only issue we had with our order was the cornbread muffins. They were very dry and neither one of us ate them. The Chicken Fried Steak was delicious as well and the best in our opinion you can get in this area. Looking forward to trying the French Toast and pancakes that this establishment has to offer. I've never ordered these items through DoorDash before as they just don't travel very well. It's just the nature of how these items are made and they tend to arrive soggy when they are ordered for takeout. I've picked up pancakes from other restaurants and they get very soggy even when I wait for them and leave immediately, it's just one of those foods that is best served in the restaurant. My spouse is extremely picky about his eggs, so I'm afraid to order anything that has eggs as a primary ingredient. Still the best CFS I've ever had in the area. This is one of the restaurants that is in the "extended range" category for our neighborhood and the restaurant fees are very high especially when I'm also tipping the drivers very well for delivery and often give them cash for delivery as well. Highly recommended and always crowded, so it must be very good food for dining in customers.

Red Potatoes are not supposed to be crunchy! Way undercooked. Ruined the whole meal! I have eaten from several Black Bear Diners and this one is the worst. The amount of grits is half of what is served at other Black bears. When you charge premium prices you should put out a premium product!
