Absolutely delicious meal! The mac & cheese is a goat cheese lovers dream, gnocchi is fresh and light and the salad is equally as delicious. What an amazing suprise to find this place, can’t wait to order again!

Fried chicken was exceptional. Juicy, tender, and crisp. Side sauce was subtle but assertive. Potato salad was scrumptious.
Definite contender for best fried chicken I've had in SF, maybe ever.

The smallest minestrone soup for $15+ I've ever seen. Two pieces of pasta, hardly any broth, tastes like store-bought. Pictures are deceptive.

I ordered the fried chicken. It is two good sized boneless pieces (larger than a "tender") and was really juicy and flavorful. It came with a little salad of mixed greens, sliced strawberries and Parmesan cheese. I also ordered Mac and cheese and the broccoli rabe burrata side. This was far too much food for one person. The Mac and cheese was good, but a bit rich for my taste, a few bites would have been plenty. They restaurant substituted asparagus for the broccoli rabe, which was fine by me, but they didn't tell me and there are many reasons why they should advise of substituted items (allergy, taste, preference). The burratta a top the Asperagus was a generous amount, again enough to share. This came out to $50, plus tip and delivery, so it was a bit of a splurge with leftovers for me (traveling alone on business and staying at a hotel) but a great deal for for 2 people, maybe order one more side to cut the richness. The restaurant doesn't allow notes/requests, which is understandable, but this is where some people advise of allergies (in my case tomatoes, which are usually easy to omit). In my case, I called to ask if there were any tomatoes in the items I planned to order. Again, the restaurant should consider allergy concerns in the ingredient listings and with substituted items.

Always a good comfort when ordering from Blue Plate. Blue Plate Meatloaf is excellent, including the potatoes and green beans. Key Lime Pie, best in town.
