I am a native of New York City and fondly remember the tastes of East European Jewish cuisine. The lox and bagel is quite close to the same taste of those with which I grew up . . , here in Omaha, Nebraska. The red onion, the capers, the lox and, of course, the bagels. I guess you can move the boy out of the city, but not the city out of the boy.
