This is a magnificent example of one of the last bastions of Hope in terms of the true Elegance and simplicity of the best of the best that the age-old kitchen cooking traditions that started well before the 1800's have to offer.
Country ham and biscuits that have kept me coming back for over 50 years. The locals still meet here as they have for decades at 6 in the morning when the place opens to get their first taste of coffee and talk and reminisce.
It truly is an icon.
The owner is amazing. She has the wisdom to stand firm in what she believes, and what she believes is that nothing regarding the menu should change in any way from the way that it's been done for the last 75 years.
Absolute perfection.
Do yourself a favor and don't take my word for it.

Disappointed today. My sister came in from Tennessee and I raved about the Philly cheesesteak sandwich that we had the other day and I talked her into getting one. All of the times I have ordered from here have been great. The sandwiches that came today were nowhere near the same as the ones from the other day. I feel embarrassed that she was left so disappointed. One of the sandwiches didn't have any cheese on it at all. Praying next time is better.
