this place is a local gem! their Cozy Mess - House Specialty is my favorite breakfast in DSM!! but everything i have tried here is excellent - fresh, large portions, great price and owned by a lovely family. highly recommend!

Corn bread was a brick.
Biscuits and gravy were lacking and fairly crispy not quite burnt but definitely close.
Apple juice and fountain drink came in a mid sized coffee cup, I don't think it mattered if I hit small or large...
The packaging was all over the place, Kum & Go bags and big styrofoam takeout boxes for smaller items such as the small amount of hash browns.

I didn't ask for onion or cheese on my chili but it was chalk full of both.once o finally got it all scooped out I realized why they do that. It tastes Ike chili from a can. if that's a regular. size order of fries, I'd hate to see the large. garlic cheese bread had barky any cheese so what's the upcharge for? the bun? Cavatelli - Our Specialty needs work. The hamburger tasted like it had sat most the day and some chunks even burnt. Add tomato sauce and noodles.. it's Cavatelli or whatever...

Overpriced, bland, small portions. You can get pretty much everything on this menu at Beaver Tap, it will taste better and be cheaper there.
