Started in Jersey City in 1924 and then moved to Los Angeles in 1931. Have been open 24 hours since 1953. Know for our Pastrami, Corned Beef. Rye Bread, Salads, Burgers, Matzo Ball soup,
The Pastrami Reuben Sandwich was incredible... however, the Chips were just a small bag of kettle brand chips. Pretty huge ripoff, considering how much is being charged ($4.25!?!?) and that they're advertised as "fresh" :/

I used to love Canters and thought they were well worth the price.. not the case anymore. My "hot" pastrami sandwich was SO dry, bread was terrible, and not a lot of meat on it. For $20+ per sandwich, you can find much better in LA.

Late night fresh healthy closest to home cooked food you can get. Beef dip with hearty portion of tender beef. No condiments but it was still moist and flavorful and the dip was tasty as well. I could barely eat half, gave rest to daughter. The wedge salad was HUGE, I'm sure an entire head of lettuce. I was too full to even try eat. The sauerkraut was not as "sauer" as I like, pretty light flavor but was still good. Overall good food.

The best!!!
Everything arrived hot, freshly made, and as fab as I had remembered. Matzo ball soup lovely and delicate. Oh those fabulous pickles fresh from the deli case. A total pig out and I admit I totally enjoyed every bite!!!

Broccoli Cheddar Stuffed Baked PotatoMinestrone SoupRugula
The stuffed baked potato is beyond delish!! Can be shared or the perfect leftovers:))) Minestrone is really good but is all beans, needs more variety of veg. Carrots, potato, zucchini, or something.
