This would be more of a 3-3.5, but since that's not an option it's a 4. The bowl was delicious, and presented beautifully as far as bowls go. The plantain flavor inside is excellent and unique. The portion is not very large however, they compact a lot of basic white rice in which should fill most people up. But for $16 I would've preferred more chicken and plantains.
The tequenos were not bad, but I sort of felt absurd after I saw them in person. They are very small, which makes sense because they are rich and served with a basil sauce that feels like a mayonaise, it doubles down for an unpleasant level of heaviness. There's no world in which that was $12 well spent. These felt like food truck portions and prices. Had the bowl been $14, and the tequenos $6, I would've felt like I got a great meal. I don't normally leave price focused reviews, but this was a stretch.

The vegan bowl is so delicious and filling! Plantains mix well with the basil sauce and perfectly cooked rice.

Carolicious is amazing and it starts with the owners who are so friendly and welcoming, that you just want to come back for more, just to say hello. But on top of that the Arepas are to die for, gluten free, fresh ingredients, nice and soft with amazing latin flavors and spices that just melt in your mouth. They also have bowls for vegan, non-vegan, vegetarian, basically, they have it all and it is all good.
It is a little bit hard to find the place, because it is inside Aeronaut Brewery, but once you find them, you will never forget that they are there!

Love the Arepa Pabellon Beef here, but it would be great if they could sort out a better way to package these. Wrapped in a napkin inside a bag inside another bag is a weird Russian doll of messy disappointment in the end. Maybe some small compostable containers? That way you could always include the sauce (which is often absent).
