Walking into Checkers was like stepping into the Louvre, but instead of priceless art, I was greeted by the glorious sight of fast food perfection. The decor? An avant-garde blend of bold colors and strategic fast-food branding that made me feel like I was in the VIP section of the burger world. Who needs Michelin stars when you have neon lights? Now, the menu. Holy guacamole! It’s a literary masterpiece. I mean, who knew that a burger could inspire such existential thoughts? The moment I laid eyes on the “Baconzilla,” I realized that I had been living in the dark for too long. It’s not just a burger; it’s an experience! A juicy, meaty, cheesy experience that transcends mere sustenance and transforms you into a burger philosopher! And let’s not forget the fries. Oh, those glorious fries! Each fry is like a tiny golden rod of happiness. I half expected them to start singing and dancing; they were that perfect! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside—if I could marry a side of fries, I would have proposed right there. The staff? Absolute angels sent from above! They treated me like royalty, and I half expected them to present my meal on a velvet cushion. Their smiles were so radiant, I thought I might need sunglasses just to bask in their glow! Been getting food from this location (sw 56th st & 137th ave) for what feels like a lifetime.. I don't know if they re-staffed or gained new management, but whatever it was, good on them for doing it. For a long time the Checkers brand was synonymous with that krusty burgers episode on the Simpsons (rub a burger on the wall and it goes see through). I have memories of receiving flattened grease leaking burgers and questionable other items. Not true today. My Big Buford® Combo burger was juicy without being a greasy mess and the fries looked like they were made in fresh frying oil. Fantastic. My only gripe with today's food falls on the Fully Loaded Fries . it had a few cups worth of bacon bits, an itty bitty dollop of cheese and non-existent ranch sauce. It was basically a big ole box of salt. sadness. They still get 5 stars though for really upping their visual and tactile food quality.

Medium fries seem like a small. Totally inAdequate size to price ratio. Shake came melted and the entire caramel pump was sitting at the bottom. Never getting checkers again.

The food was amazing. Everything tasted very fresh! The seasoned fries were very crispy and delicious. The burgers were else great and tasted fresh.
