Wow!!! Ordered this for a midnight snack and Wow...it's huge. It's also absolutely delicious. It came with a good size side of vanilla ice cream. I've ate half so far...let's see if it lasts tonight. hahha

I order from this restaurant on a regular basis and it is always deliciois it's really expensive but worth the indulgence.
However this past experience was incredibly disappointing. I had a girlfriend over and have always been raving about this place. We ordered the lotus milk cake and the ferroro skillet cookie. I marked this because the lotus cake is always my favourite but this time the whole order was disappointing. The cake ($20!) was not the same as it usually is. There was no cookie crumble on top, barely anything besides whip cream and the cake was a bit dry. barely any cream/milk in the container so the cake absorbed it all which has never happened, probably because it was dry. The cookie.... (20!!) what a disappointment . This looked thrown into a container as an after thought. It was ice cold (it supposed to be warm, the chocolate chips on top were not even melted! And it was probably 1/3 to 1/2 the size it usually is. And tasted stale like pulled from end of night display item. This is the first time I've regretted spending my money. So about $45 on a piece of cake a cookie that we were both disappointed in.

Chocolate lava cake is worth $7, not $20. JOEYS used to have a molten lava cake for like $10 (I was expected something better given the cost is double, bare minimum of at least similar quality) but this cake tasted was very "cheaply" made (the store bought ones you heat up are better) and not worth the cost at all. Will not be buying this cake again. Disappointing, since I've previously tried other stuff from here (tiramisu cheesecake) that was fine.

The carrot cake was good, but not worth the price IMO. I find this place to be expensive compared to other restaurants and the desserts don't really stand out in taste or portion size. Most restaurants sell slices of cake similar in size for about $10-15. $20 for an average tasting cake doesn't really make sense. Ironically their burgers and sandwiches seem like they're better value for price. I usually only order from D Spot whenever there's a promo code, otherwise it's just too expensive for me. Maybe the dine-in prices are a bit better?
