As a Texas native, I'm very particular about barbecue, and as such I'd just about given up on being able to finding decent barbecue here in the Twin Cities. That is, of course, until I found out that there's a Dickey's in the area. One bite of the brisket-filled sandwich in my Westerner Sandwich Combo reminded me of the tender, pit smoked beef from back at home, rich with umami flavor and tender from the hours spent under indirect, charcoal-fueled heat. My heart rejoiced at the return of their famed onion strings, which remind me of the onion rings I couldn't get enough of back at home at places such as Jim's Restaurant or Frontier Burger, the thin and crispy delights that are a completely different animal from the thick and stodgy kind you find everywhere else that are honestly a bit mid. And then to be able to have a Dickey's cup again? Excellent. I can't wait to dig into the Pecan Pie later on (I'm currently stuffed from my meal).

I heard great things about this place so decided to give it a try.... first and last time. Got the 3 meat plate, it was decent tasting but portion size is small for the price. Mac and cheese was like any other you get from a fast food resturant, okay to eat but bland. Baked potato casserole was honestly quite good. Cup chili is super oily and small for the price you pay and the baked beans were... baked beans but overpriced. Overall the price isn't worth it.
