There are a few things yu need to know right off the top, before you order. In the picture it looks like the Pollo Asado Completo / Whole Roasted Chicken is spatchcocked, or butterflied. That makes an elegant presesentstion, and we were so looking forward to it. But alas the chicken comes cleavered into almost random pieces, which can affect taste as well as appearance ( more about that in a minute).
Second. While the text in the description of both the whole and half Pollo Asado Completo / Whole Roasted Chicken suggests you can select two sides, you cannot. When you go to complete your order it only lets you pick one. Not arguing with it. It doesn't are what the text says.
There are good reasons to keep a roasted chicken as intact as possible, chief among them the fact that every cut allows the juices to escape. So I wasn't particularly optimistic when the chicken arrived hacked to pieces. But it was surprisingly moist with the only part noticeably dry was the rib meat. (I should have mentioned sooner that the whole chicken is a very small bird; good for only two moderately hungry diners). The skin was just right, well seasoned and not greasy or fatty. And a small piece carried over to the next day without the skin becoming unappetizing or congeled but looked every bit as appealingly edible as it did the night before. Now for the side. So often plantains can go really wrong. So we held our breath and ordered Maduros / Fried Sweet Plantains ( in fact we threw caution to the wind and ordered an additional side. ) These were exceptional. They were cooked just right, with a deep color and rich caramel flavor. And the best part was the next morning the refrigerated leftovers were even better than they were the night before! You can go wrong if you order an extra side with your order!

The Maduros / Fried Sweet Plantains are indeed sweet but they were left in the oil a bit too long so I didn't like that and for $4.99, I expected a bit more plantains. The chicken was delicious but very dry. The yellow rice was probably the best dish. The green Salsa de la Casa is their best sauce by far and the most flavorful and is really good with the chicken. The red Salsa Picante is really spicy but not that good. The Salsa Rosada is just ok. Overall, the food is good and I would recommend the Medio Pollo Asado / Half Roasted Chicken with the Salsa de la Casa

Complete whole roasted chicken was amazing had good flavor, but when it came to the Mofongo, it laughed spices and flavor. Little bit of Chicharrón inside and cheese on it The rice with gondolas had no flavor at all so that is disappointing.
