• DoorDash orderYams were doing what they need to do, the Mac was very well seasoned and the cabbage was fire. & The cornbread was warm and buttered. Great go-to meal when you're needing a solid plate of great food!

• DoorDash orderThis was our 1st time ordering and will NOT be our last. We were EXTREMELY impressed. Yams were sweet but not overly. Greens were spicy, not too many stems. Mac was super cheesy and creamy. Catfish (Original) was fried well. If I had one complaint, it would be for the fish to be fried harder and to be able to get hot sauce and tartar sauce. I wasn't able to ask for those things. My husband's Meatloaf was very flavorful. We will definitely be exploring their menu more.

• DoorDash reviewI live in Seattle, but my dad is from Fort Worth. I love soul food but finding something down home delicious is SO HARD where I live. Everything is elevated, which has its place but sometimes you just want chicken smothered in gravy and collard greens.
Ella Ems had me standing and eating--sampling everything I had and doing little happy dance. This is food I grew up on. The fried pork chops were seasoned well, the mashed potatoes were buttery with a good amount of gravy, and the collard greens were not vegetarian lol. I also got the Mac and cheese which was perfect for me. Is it a bit salty? Yea-but it tastes exactly like my dad makes it, and it's exactly what I wanted. Im sitting here eating a little crispy fat from my pork chop like a fat kid.

• DoorDash orderI am not going to lie being raised in the Carolinas had me skeptical of ordering from this place because of the reviews. I ordered the option for my food to be delivered direct to me that way heat wouldn't be a factor and I would expect my food hot, not only did my food come hot but this place did not disappoint. Everything I ordered I am enjoying and is well seasoned comfort Southern food. I ordered my pork chops fried with gravy on the side. The sides I chose for my dinner dish was collard greens macaroni and cheese mashed potatoes and gravy and I added an additional side of cabbage. Everything is delicious! I now have a new favorite place when I'm in the mood for soul food!

• DoorDash order8 Piece Fry Chicken Mix Meal x2 was not the pieces indicated. I should have had 4 of everything. I had 1 breast, 1 wing and everything else was legs and thighs which I personally don't eat. The chicken tastes old and too chewy to eat. My kids threw their food away. A huge waste of money!
