The portion size was good for the price, but the taste was quite lacking. Dishes were piping hot and packaged well.
TLDR:
The Peking Spareribs and Salt & Pepper Pork Chops were both disappointing. The meat was mushy, slimy, and didn't have the texture of properly fried meat. The Peking Spareribs were bland and lacked any significant flavor. They should have been potently sweet and sour. The Salt & Pepper Pork Chops were also severely under-seasoned. They needed much more salt, pepper, and general flavor.
---
Rock Cod Fish Fillet with Braised Tofu in Clay Pot was somewhat acceptable. The fish and tofu were a bit bland, but the shiitake mushrooms in this dish were sharply sour?! I wondered if the mushrooms went borderline bad?
Now on to the Peking Spareribs and Salt & Pepper Pork Chops:
The meat was mushy (almost pasty) and slimy.
No, this is not a "deep-fried-but-got-soggy-afterwards" situation. The meat tasted like it was BOILED first, then battered and briefly fried to only to cook the batter. It was far too "wet" for a fried dish. The meat likely had a cornstarch coating applied before being boiled, which created a slimy, slippery barrier to the lightly fried exterior.
The meat also came apart when I took a bite. There was barely any structural integrity left of the meat. I suspect too much baking soda was added to the pork for tenderizing, or it was left soaking in a baking soda mixture far too long.
The Peking Spareribs dish was bland and lacking in sauce. There was a faintly sweet taste, but that was it. It should be potently sweet and sour with savoriness. The aroma of the vinegar, when you smell it, should sharply hit the olfactory senses, yet be tantalizing.
The Salt & Pepper Pork Chops dish did not live up to its name. It lacked salt, pepper, and flavor. I was disappointed by how such a common dish could be so flavorless. Meat issues aside, this dish needed salt and MSG badly.

We really love this place (great food, great value) but it loses a star for inconsistency. The Bean Sprout & Yellow Chives Chow Mein is usually the normal noodles, but occasionally it's the tiny threadlike noodles & I don't like that texture. The Spicy Bean Cake with Pork and Salted Spicy Deep-Fried Tofu are usually perfectly spiced, with a nice kick but not too hot, but occasionally are very spicy. I can handle the heat but my kids don't care for it. We're vegetarian and they are very happy to make accommodations when I ask for no pork in the tofu, etc. The food is always great, just not always what I was expecting like I got last time.

Oxtail with Dry Bean Curd in Clay Pot good, just like dad used to make. Deep Fried Prawns was different, but delicious. Brother enjoyed the seafood chow mein. Missing Deep Fried Frog with Salty Egg Yolk

If you are looking for authentic cantonese cooking, this place is spot on. It is one of the very few places that actually tastes like the kind of cantonese cooking I remember as a child. Also, one of the few places that cooks walnut prawns correctly. I also loved their beef chow fun.
