The chow mein was basically plain noodles, it was all bland, not even salt flavor, dry, no seasoning, no soy or oyster sauce nothing.
The meat had no seasoning at all not even salt. It is basically texture.
It was basically just tossed in with a bit of oil.
I'm going through chow mein cravings and looking for the best chow mein in the bay and this was a incredible FAIL!!
Especially when it is supposed to be a higher quality restaurant, a basic plain noodle it's just pointless plain texture, wasted ingredients.
This is a basic basic basic dish.
Picture shows absolutely dry plain nothing noodles, the no seasoning on anything.
Incredibly WASTEFUL thing to do especially when there is ANIMAL PROTEIN.
Is there not even basic soy sauce at Not so Great China?

Chow main was really bland and lacked flavor and same goes for the Mongolian Beef . Their food seems to be better when you dine in. Pretty disappointed since their food is on the pricey side. Will not be ordering again.

As ever, the Xin Xian Spareribs were deliciously sauced and succulent. This and the Stir Fried Green beans are my go-to's. Very imami!

everything was great as usual. great china is a Berkeley favorite. we had walnut prawns, Mongolian beef, and chicken chow mein. they are fantastic, if you're deciding between here and another place, just order from great china NOW!!!
