The Pot Roast Dinner was amazing, so filling, so comforting, and so much food. Exactly what I needed on a dreary, cozy night off. The mac needed a touch of salt and pepper but I'd rather need to add a little than have it overdone. I'll definitely order again.

Catfish meal had the best fried catfish I've had in GR. They were large, thick filets, perfectly seasoned. The greens were tender, though a little bitter, and the mac-n-cheese wasn't my favorite, but I will definitely order again with different sides.

I think they changed cooks because they were trash for awhile but the last few times have been great.
I get the smothered chops and they are nice size and meaty "pause" very flavorful and the blackeyed peas and loaded potatoes were fire as well

If you haven't tried this restaurant, you are missing out! These folks really do put the "soul" in soul food! As a former southern gal, I missed the taste of home cooked comfort food and they really deliver some of the best dishes. Pork Chop Dinner (2 pcs) is one of my favorites and the pork chops are HUGE and a great bang for the buck. Definitely try the succulent ribs or fall in love with the loaded mashed potatoes. Did I tell you about the Cornbread (1pc)? It is so not a dried up styrofoam board like most places, and I always get an extra piece. They're also very good about accommodating special requests. All in all, my belly is always full and happy when I receive their delicious delectables! Thank you Great Giant Soul Food Town!

There was definitely a good amount of food for the money!
Unfortunately, the Meatloaf Dinner (2pcs) wasn't anything special. The meatloaf was kinda dry and lacking in flavor. My partner did not like it at all. The BBQ Chicken Leg ¼ Dinner (2pcs) was okay. The BBQ sauce was good and the chicken was juicy, but also lacking in flavor. As a whole, all of our 4 sides were very bland. I was hoping for some homey flavorful soul food, but it was kinda disappointing. They also sent me the wrong kind of soda. (oh well lol)
The Pork Spare Ribs (1pc=2 bones) were pretty good and the Mississippi Mud Cake was fabulous!
