I ordered the fish and chips. Absolutely the worst fish and chips I've ever had. The breading on the fish was awful, much too heavy and conflicted with the taste of the fish.
I've eaten at Jake's for years and have never had a bad meal until the fish and chips.

Both were excellent Full of flavor so many shrimp and cooked to perfection the salad which we do not get fresh anything except fish it was crispy it was just like they went to the garden and picked the salad just for me

If Jake's had advertised themselves as a diner, and charged diner prices, this would have been a fine meal. But Jake's reputation and price point make overcooked salmon (while keeping the Dasher waiting 10 minutes), thrown together plates, and what seemed like mass-produced crab/shrimp cakes, unacceptable. Leaving the salad out of the order is unacceptable from any restaurant.
