Another let down. As a former New Yorker (born in NYC, raised on Long Island and lived in the Bronx and Lower East Side), I know New York pizza. This is not it.
You can tell Johnnys bakes the pie on a pie sheet with holes (check my photos). The dough has a funny taste, not a good taste. The cheese is good. The sauce doesnt really have a good taste to it, rather basic/bland.
This pizza may look NY "style" but does not have the taste or crust to be considered NY pizza.
Another let down by a Texas pizza joint using NY in the name. DONT BE FOOLED .
If you dont import water from downstate New York for your pizza dough, it will never be NY pizza.
If you dont use a gas deck pizza oven, you will never make NY pizza.
If you want NY imposter pizza than this place is for you, if not, dont waste your time.

They were offering a pepperoni pizza for $4.95. I thought it was an amazing deal until they come back and say it is a slice, and not a pizza, even though that is NOT what they are advertising on the menu.
