They always do a great job of labeling the boxes for me, which is so considerate! The krispy roll is my husbands new favorite and I love the queen roll(which is huge!) Fish is always fresh and has good flavor. Only minor thing is their wasabi is rather mild, which is great for some!

The tempura was soggy. The tuna and salmon was tough & fishy. Not sushi grade. Over dressed salad with yellow lettuce. So disappointing when you plan take in for two at $70.

Maguro (Tuna) was excellent. So fresh and a perfect texture. Wow I have been ordering from Izakaya. Kaigan has really stepped up their game. My new favorite for teriyaki and sushi!!!!

I love their Sake nigiri sushi, but I don't like the way the fish is cut on many o the other nigiri sushi like the Maguro and Hamachi. Sometimes the Unagi is good, fresh and soft, other times it is stiff an doesn't taste fresh, so it's a roll of the dice...I wish the overall quality was more consistent. I tried the short ribs, which were tasty, but the portion was too small for the price IMHO. The shrimp tempura also didn't meet m expectation because there is barely any shrimp in them! the Rangoon Cracker is okay, but needs more crabmeat filling an not so much dry dough on the corners. The Thai tea is always good. Tekka was okay.

Consistently good food. I have tried every Japanes/sushi spot between here and Vallejo and Kaigan is hands down my fav. Never disappoints , always looks nice and tastes fresh. Nobody else has checked all of those boxes.
