Tasty and fresh! The rice is just a bit less sushi-vinegar-laden than I prefer. The miso soup is my ideal balance both in flavor and texture, and the Shumai was rich and delicious.

Grayslake roll and crab rangoon were ok. Ramen was a total let down. Tonkotsu ramen broth was weird red color and mostly flavorless. Chicken ramen was basically chicken noodle soup. Maybe this passes in the suburbs, but if youve had great ramen (Japan, Thailand, even Chicago) skip it at Kawa.

I used to be a regular a Kawa. I feel their quality has suffered over the past few years. Some of my favorites no longer taste the same. The rolls did not hold together like they used to. For me to not finish or save any of my rolls says a lot about how I am feeling about how it tastes or the quality. And for the price...they are not items that should go to waste. Plus, if you order three specialty sushi rolls...PLEASE, include more than three packets of soy sauce. The edamame were great & so was the miso soup.

Everything tasted stale and like it had soap on it, especially the miso soup.
The salad was only lettuce with a half cup of ginger dressing.
Every sushi roll I had fell apart. Would NOT recommend ordering.
