I've been going to La Costeña since the 90's and we've never stopped! I always get a Chico burrito with carne asada (the flavor is delicious!) and it never disappoints. The refried beans and rice have amazing flavor and the Chico burrito is honestly quite large for a small. The horchata is tasty as well :) my family will also get al pastor and chili verde as well and love them both!

The super burrito is super big*, not super in the usual sense of having lots of tasty ingredients packed inside. I mistakenly thought it was both, so opted not to pay $1 extra per topping, thinking those were additional* sides, not the stuff in the burrito. As a result, I am now eating an 18 inch coil of rice, beans, and a little chicken. My comments are focused on those ingredients. The rice and beans are okay, but have a very generic, mass produced flavor and texture rather than the authentic, homemade kind of flavor I look for. Hard to put my finger on exactly what gives it away. That's not to say they're bad, just that they aren't particularly exciting on their own. The chicken is not bad - cooked and seasoned well, not dry. But I wish there was more, and perhaps a little more oil left on it to give flavor to the rest of the burrito.
If you elect to get all the extras you'd normally get in a super burrito, the menagerie of flavors will likely cover up and compensate for any shortcomings on the rice, beans, and meat. Hence the 4 stars instead of 3.
Guac I got on the side had good flavor and was fresh, just wish there was more. Not terrible for $2.50 though.

Massive size, easily good for multiple meals or people, but disappointingly bland. No discernible salsa, guac, cream... basically seems like a bomb of tortilla, rice, beans, and meat. This should be called "Grande" instead of super.
At least it should have come with a little thing of salsa :(

I ordered the al pastor super tacos and they were delicious. Great flavor in the meat. I only gave 4 stars because the restaurant forgot to put my side of guacamole in the bag. other than that, the food tasted great.
