Best Italian sub that I've had since I've been here. The soft bread adds to it. This is my second time ordering from here (the first time I ordered the philly cheesesteak). I enjoyed both orders, the Blondie with Nuts is what drew me back the second time so I decided to try the Italian Big One Sub! Found my new sammich spot, we had the best sandwich spot back home called MSM and I've been looking for a taste of home, this is it!

I sincerely had high hopes for this sub but in the end, it was very underwhelming. Initially I asked that the sub be dipped in the au jus before being wrapped. This is probably the first time that I've been happy that a restaurant didn't honor my request. Chicago's Own Italian Beef Sub (12") contains a miniscule amount of tender (but flavorless) beef slices, provolone cheese and giardiniera peppers which were the star of the sub. I opted to add onions, sweet peppers and mushrooms. I decided to take a bite of the sub to really taste the beef and there was nothing. No seasoning of any kind. The au jus may as well have been brown water because it too had little to no flavor. Only the tiniest hint of beef flavor. It's been a while since I've had a bad sub sandwich but I guess it was about time. I chose the Potato Salad as my side. Scale of 1-10 I give the Potato Salad a 7. Wow.. just, wow.

Everything was very good. The grilled chicken breast salad has a generous amount of chicken , cheese and fresh veggies. The cup of chili is good with a slight kick more like a bowl. Comes with several crackers. The cherry limeade was nice for a change.

Beef was super dry even with the juice on the side. No flavor at all. I thought the sweet peppers were sweet and they were just as spicy as the giardinera peppers. Would not order again. Would try a regular sub instead. Also my sub was not 8 inches. Definitely gave me a 6 inch but whatever.

Bomber Chicken Breast Sub (12") is so delicious 😋
Corned Beef & Pastrami Sub (12") & Cuban Sub (8") are pretty phenomenal too! You really can't go wrong with anything from this great little Sub Shop
