Lola's is so consistently amazing. Delicious and perfect every time I order. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Sacramento. Please try their food for yourself!! I'm working my way through their whole menu but progress is slow, because I keep going back to things I've already tried, like the Puerto Rican Special and the Cubano (best in Sac, prove me wrong).

Empanadillas are small and not worth the price. Beef empanadillas were better than chicken for sure. Arroz con gandules were not seasoned.

The tostones were excessively oily and bore no resemblance to their depiction in the advertisement. Additionally, the quality of the food was poor, and the portion size of the ropa vieja was disappointingly small. Avocado super ugly

Absolutely phenomenal! Authentic Puerto Rican dishes made with care. The PR special tastes like Abuela cooked it up in the heart of San Juan. The empanadas are the best I've had. Give this place a try.

The empanadas were small (as another reviewer noted), but they were still tasty and filling. They arrived crispy and felt like something you'd make at home with your tias. The Puerto Rican Special was mostly good. The only part I didn't really care for was the arroz con gandules. It had an odd aftertaste and was just a *touch* too soft. I've had arroz con gandules before, so I was expecting to inhale it, but I didn't take more than 2-3 bites. The pernil was yummy, although it could've used a little more salt/seasoning.
Overall, a satisfying, homemade-tasting meal. Just not 100%, mostly bc of the rice.
