It’s easy to default to the same order at your local Chinese spot. But at Mama Ji’s, the menu is so exciting that you’ll never opt for the same thing twice. The dishes come straight from owner Li “Lil…
Our favorite takeout! The Hot and Numbing fish is a must-try if you like that tingly Szechuan pepper flavor. We always get that but have also enjoyed everything else we've tried on the menu; Ants Climbing Trees is in our regular rotation, as is the Beijing Chicken and Eggplant and the Fish Fragrant Tofu. Triple C wings are awesome--saucy, peanutty umami with a bit of spice--and a generous portion.

Chow mein tiny. Only a 3rd of the togo box was filled and there was barely any shrimp.
Chinese broccoli also did not have a lot and was too gingery.
Fish was okay.
Way too overpriced for what you get. You can find much cheaper and better on doordash.

The chonquing Chongqing Chicken here has always been a favorite, but they've changed something and now Ivan say it's the best sichuan chicken in SF, hands down. Get the fried rice with veggies (includes broccoli and asparagus ), and shrimp & pea dumplings. Perfect lunch

The Xinjiang Cumin lamb has the almost perfect taste but the serving size is too small with its price.
The Chongqing chicken's taste is close to the original but its spicy level is localized.

Mama Ji's is consistently the best. We order the same food most of the time and the taste, quality, and quantity are always spot on, signs of a great establishment. Strongly recommend! For vegetarians: triple c tofu and mapo tofu are awesome.
