The red bean plate needed much flavor in the beans, but a little creole seasoning helped. I was extremely disappointed to find that both the red beans were full of rice, with not much beans ladled over the top, and masqued to appear to have a good amount of beans when its seriously NOT! One of the oldest, most awful tricks in the book, and as not only a chef and caterer, as a repeat customer and supporter of Melba's, I'm both offended and appalled! Not enough beans for the price AT ALL! The chicken was fresh out of the grease, and so were the fries! The chicken was seasoned and fried absolutely perfectly and beautifully, and the fries didn't have any salt or seasoning whatsoever, but they were fried perfectly crispy and held up until the dasher got my order to me, I'm thoroughly impressed with that! And last but CERTAINLY not least, the cornbread! They didn't give me the one that was supposed to come with the chicken and fries, but the one I got with the Red Bea Plate (Melbas) was literally the BEST cornbread I have ever had in my life, like seriously! Sweet and perfect, puts you in the mind of a fluffy cornmeal cake! I mean I will go and buy those in bulk for my Sunday dinner, brunch, lunch, parties, afternoon snack, YOU NAME IT! All around, I may give Melba's another chance based on the cornbread alone, but please incorporate integrity, customers deserve to actually get food when they pay for it! Thank you!
