Love this place! The depth of flavor on the tacos alone makes Mi Calvillo a standout, which is saying something considering how much delicious Mexican food we have here in Durham. The rest of the menu is great, too, from the enchiladas to the random sides. Pickled onions and habaneros! Grilled jalapeños and onions! I even love their rice! They also offer a great selection of proteins (even including cochinita pibil), and they offer more than the usual vegetarian choices compared to a lot of places that are more meat-focused. Rajas, nopales, and potatoes are available in many dishes along with the classic bean and cheese combo. My vegetarian bestie swears by their gorditas. The dining room is cute and cozy, and they also offer a table or two for sidewalk dining. And! They always get my special requests right, which means a lot to me as a picky eater with a few food-related issues. Go there! Eat food! Repeat!

I am always very grateful pleased with the food her! The Burrito de la Casa / House Burrito is delicious, full of flavor and its a hefty portion as well (water bottle included in photo for a size comparison). The guacamole is also delicious, the lime flavor comes through more than I am used to, but I enjoy it!
